To get closer to customers, get close to a branch



You’ll be the first person to serve the customer once they’ve walked into a branch. And you’ll help them out with the minimum of fuss, making their life easier every step of the way.

The key is putting every customer at the heart of what we do – something you’re already great at. Often it’s just a case of performing a transaction quickly and politely, so the customer can get on with their day. On other occasions, you’ll use your rapport with the public to ask the right questions, understand the customer’s needs, then refer them to one of our specialists. It’s a great introduction to the world of retail banking, and a chance to build on the experience you already have.

You’ll have worked in a customer service environment before, and  always perform to the best of your ability. You’ll also have the right interpersonal skills and initiative to resolve customer issues if any arise. Prior knowledge of banking products and services is handy of course, but above all we want people who know that great service is as much about listening as it is about talking. Of course, you’ll believe in working as part of a team and in putting the customer before everything else. It’s important too that you’re flexible enough to come in or stay a little later if your branch’s opening hours mean you need to, which may mean on a weekend.
